Quantum's XT™ Fins Report

QME News News Builders Archives

First two XT™ systems in service; facility expansion in Holland;
ZeroSpeed™ list grows to over 160!

XT™ fins - The XT's are here! Quantum is proud to announce that the first two vessels fitted with the new XT (extendable) fins for ZeroSpeed™ are now in service and the reports are excellent. In both cases we would like to thank our customers for their faith in Quantum's ability to continually deliver improved performance through innovation.

Quantum XT Fin

XT™ fins allow us to increase fin area when you need it for ZeroSpeed™ or OnAnchor™; and return to our low-drag/high performance configuration while underway. Also, ZeroSpeed™ installations that previously might have required four fins can now perform perfectly with two- conserving power, space, and other onboard resources.

Innovation: One of the most difficult challenges for any company is to market new technologies on a "fast track" basis. Understandably, most consumers are reluctant to be "beta testers" or "guinea pigs" for a completely new product or technology- especially true in our industry considering the nature and value of our customers' yachts.

Quantum has been extremely fortunate over the years to have a customer base which has dealt with the company for, in some cases, over 20 years. Our customers have an appetite for continually improved performance. Combine that with faith and trust in us, and our development efforts become much easier, and more rewarding to implement. The result: full scale validation of the XT™ fins.

Our early model testing did show us that the new fin design had
some significant performance benefits. Now those benefits have
been validated on full scale trials and the customer, as always, has
the last word. I am pleased to report that that word is "BRAVO"!

This is not the end of our "idea factory". There are a number of additional developments in the works and we will unveil those at the appropriate time. Stay tuned!

Expansion: As we continue to expand our Quantum family we will be introducing our new associates in detail in following newsletters. We have increased our service capabilities and personnel in Europe, and our commissioning staff and capabilities are expanding as well. Our colleagues in Holland have now completed their facility expansion project and the place looks fantastic. This is even more impressive a feat when you consider that the expansion was accomplished while producing a record number of systems - good work indeed!

Quantum Expansion

ZeroSpeed™ vessels: We are also happy to report that our burgeoning fleet of vessels in service fitted with Quantum Zero Speed™ has grown beyond the 160 mark- check out the updated list. The order book continues to grow - as do the size of projects we are supplying. At this stage we can only say the future looks exceedingly bright and we again owe this to our customers and their continued support.

THANK YOU ALL!
