M/V Chenega, the second Derecktor fast ferry featuring Quantum thrusters built for the Alaskan Marine Highway System, was christened in January of 2005 at Derecktor Shipyard in Connecticut. Expected to be in service in April or May of 2005, the ship joins M/V Fairweather, already in service and routinely exceeding 30 knots year-round in one of the world's most demanding environments.
