Our hydraulic systems run at what is considered today the higher end of the medium pressure range, 3900-4200 psi, with multiple benefits:

1. Smaller tubing, as higher pressure equates to lower flow rates. Smaller pumps and motors.
2. Smaller pumps and motors.
3. Less heat.
4. Less noise. Tubing and hose configurations, materials, and practices also are part of engineering a hydraulic system for quiet and efficient operation. Our support system will help the installer achieve the highest possible noise reduction.
5. Less fluid in the system. Smaller reservoirs, less weight. More space in the engine room or machinery space.
6. Smaller tubing, less flow, and higher pressure also equate to less pressure drop on longer runs. This is especially important for bow thrusters and other bow users, generally the equipment located the farthest from the source of hydraulic power.
7. Fully proportional controls in closed loop configuration.
8. Bent axial piston motors- variable delivery with proportional pressure control. Small, light, efficient. Often, the space required to mount a large hydraulic motor running on a low pressure/high flow open loop system will create a problem at the bow of the boat. Space is at a premium everywhere on board, but having to raise the decking in the forward compartments to accommodate last century's motor for your thruster is anathema to the Quantum approach.
